  • Mike Trout has been dropped due to the anticipated birth of his child in August. It seems like he’s guaranteed to miss around one week or maybe more. There’s also the slight possibility that he opts out late or decides not to return following the birth of his child. I’ve got him around 20 overall because of that risk.
  • Mookie Betts has jumped Bellinger because I think he’s going to ball out in LA.
  • Players like Charlie Blackmon, Tommy Pham, Austin Meadows, and Gregory Polanco have been dropped due to COVID.
  • Nick Castellanos is a big riser. The hype is high with him but I believe that his skills will play perfectly in Cincinnati, especially in the GABP with that soft schedule. Even with the hype, I’m still higher than most.
  • Yasiel Puig sings with the Braves and receives a much deserved boost. We need to wait and see how quickly he can get up to speed but he’s likely;y a top-125 asset this year.
  • Rnaks 47-55: Joc Pederson through Shin So-Choo is where there is a ton of value. These are either boring vets or players who received a boost with the DH. A lot of these players are being slept on but I think most of them will return value on their ADPs.

  • Francisco Lindor remains atop the Shortstop ranks, albeit only a spot of two ahead of Story and Turner. If the rumors are true and Lindor his 3rd, he’ll get  slight boost in combined R+RBI.
  • Based on this rank, I won’t be getting any shares of Bo Bichette. I’m not 100% there on the hype yet, so I’ll wait and see if he struggles, then scoop him at a slight discount in 2021.
  • Amed Rosario is Tim Anderson. Tim Anderson is Amed Rosario.
  • I wanted to push Dansby Swanson higher but the position is so stacked. With the addition of Yasiel Puig, Swanson will likely remain in the 6th or 7th spot in the lineup. I believe in his talent and if he were to grab hold of, say the two spot, he’d be five to six spots higher.

        • Yoan Moncada, ugh! This one hurts. I was on him as a potential AL MVP and now he’ll start on the IL due to COVID. Given the uncertainty of his symptoms and recovery, I had to knock him a bunch of spots.

    • Other than Moncada, almost no movement in the top 15. Kyle Seager and Starlin Castro are a couple of boring vets who moved up. Their playing time is guaranteed and they showed some moderate skills growth last season. Seager should bat third for the Mariners and Castro should be in the mix around the six spot for a stacked Nationals lineup.
    • With Guerrero Jr. making a move to first base, Travis Shaw gets a bump. Remember, he had back-to-back 30 homer seasons in 2017 and 2018 but if his contact rates are as dreadful as they were in 2019, he’s a quick drop.

  • Not much movement at the top. After a more in depth look at Whit Merrifeld, I’ve dropped him a couple spots. He’ll still have decent value hitting atop the Royals lineup but his speed is declining as he’s over the hill (31 years old). I’m also not a believer in his power. His metrics were decent in 2017 but have steadily declined.
  • Gavin Lux is another faller. He’ll get a latte start due to COVID and the Dodgers have such depth, that he’ll likely be a part-timer. I think 2021 will be his year but I’m likely staying away in 2020.
  • Cesar Hernandez is a riser thanks to the news about him possibly leading off for the Indians. I was already a fan of his value coming in, now he’s pushing inside the top 175.
  • Starlin Castro will play everyday and he showed some improvements in the second half of 2019.
